Sanga noun[ C ] uk /ˈsæŋ.ɡə/ us /ˈsɑːŋ.ɡə/ an African cow with a round, raised part on its front: Although it is likely that the herds contained Sanga cattle, Zebus predominated. The cattle were a local breed of the Sanga type. The Sanga, although hardier than earlier breeds, could not match the Zebu in its ability to survive adverse conditions. These were the long-horned Sangas of the pastoral era. These societies retained Sanga cattle. Around that period, new methods were perfected of exploiting the lush pastures for milk and meat, probably with improved types of cattle of the Sanga breed.
