Bladderwrack is edible and some people claim that, once dried, it makes a tasty snack. The kids spent many a happy hour popping the air pockets in the bladder wrack. Bladderwrack has a high iodine content and was once one of the main sources for it. Bladderwrack is sometimes used in fertilizer.
