Using nouns
Some nouns can change their meaning depending on how they are used and what they combine with. Certain abstract nouns, such as reason or opinion are commonly used as part of noun phrases (the reason + for + sth.) or prepositional phrases (in my opinion). Others, such as work, can be used as a countable noun or as an uncountable noun with different meanings. Click on a topic to learn more about using nouns.
